In what ways does our use of language cause confusion, harm, or innovation? In this talk, we explore a brief history of design and then talk about the ways in which you can better employ language to shape the world around you and be a better designer.
Amélie Lamont is a product designer(d) and writer based in Brooklyn, NY. She specializes in using cultural studies and design anthropology to inform her design process.
She’s also the co-founder of Good for PoC and creator of The Guide to Allyship, two resources aimed at helping marginalized communities. She’s had the honor of presenting her research and work at places such as The White House, The Great Discontent, Etsy, Twitter, Dropbox and Cooper.
When she’s not designing or writing, you can find Amélie doing yoga, serving her community, watching Korean dramas, or gathering energy for her next Kamehameha wave.
